The Challenge
PowerPlant had already built a name for itself on Melrose Avenue as a destination for custom Harley-Davidson builds and premium aftermarket parts — the kind of shop enthusiasts travel for. But that reputation lived almost entirely offline and inside a niche parts catalog. The brand had no real e-commerce presence, no consistent visual identity to unify the shop's in-person energy with an online storefront, and no product line that could turn casual admirers of the brand — people who loved the aesthetic but weren't in the market for a $420 riser or a custom build — into paying customers.
The opportunity was clear: chopper culture has a built-in audience that dresses the part. PowerPlant needed a way to capture that audience without taking on inventory risk, and it needed a digital storefront and brand identity strong enough to do the shop's reputation justice online.
The Solution
I worked with PowerPlant to launch a print-on-demand apparel line from the ground up, built to extend the brand beyond parts and builds into everyday wearability — without the upfront cost or risk of holding stock.
The engagement covered four connected pieces:
-
Brand identity: Developed a cohesive visual identity and color palette that translated PowerPlant's in-shop, custom-chopper aesthetic into a brand that would hold up on a product tag, a social feed, and a homepage alike.
-
E-commerce build: Built out the Shopify storefront at p16garage.com, organizing the catalog across parts, apparel, and accessories, and setting up the infrastructure to support a print-on-demand product line alongside existing inventory.
-
Content & social strategy: Developed an Instagram marketing strategy to put the new apparel line in front of the audience already following PowerPlant's builds and bike culture content, turning brand affinity into product discovery.
-
Retail marketing plan: Tied the online launch back to the physical shop, using the Melrose Avenue storefront and its built-in foot traffic as a real-world extension of the digital brand.

The Results
In its first year, the apparel line went from a concept on paper to $57,000 in incremental annual revenue — a new revenue stream built on top of PowerPlant's existing parts and build business, with no added inventory risk thanks to the print-on-demand model. The new line gave PowerPlant a lower-cost entry point for fans of the brand, a merchandising presence that reinforced the shop's identity across every channel, and a Shopify storefront built to keep growing alongside it.
